The house...

Well. I have left a comment for Tim on his blog that I need some house advice. I might as well put it on here so he knows what he might be getting himself into before he decides to talk to me. =) Which, by the way, I think I sent him the same comment about 5 times. Good one, huh? I know. So, here are the issues on my house.

1. From the looks of things, the floor is unlevel. The cabinets are pulled away from the wall and connected with what would be like a spacer (it was like that when we moved in.) We laid the peel and stick tiles on the floor in the kitchen but they have not stayed - so move apart. Is this because we did it wrong, or the floor...not really sure. Then, this week I noticed a place where we had painted about a year ago has cracked....above the sink below the window. So this concerns me.

2. The bathroom. The caulk in the tub was going bad, so over the summer Landon resealed it. But that was about 3-4 months ago and the caulk has already cracked between the tub and the wall. It would see that water has gotten behind the shower wall and might have problems. Mom says it is a foundation problem....very well could be. No idea.

3. Electrical - Kind of confused about this whole situation. The guy next door (who may be an electrican or not...he knows something) said there were problems but not immediate danger. Not really sure what he was talking about as he was talking to Landon and Tony, not me.

4. We had a pipe freeze and crack last winter - which was temporarily fixed with a clamp. The shut off valve is broken (the handle broke) and the pipe is in the garage but not insulated well. Not sure if we should move it into the crawl space or just fix the cracked pipe by replacing it and the valve and insulating the pipe better than it was the first time.

So those are the house problems we are having. I'm not sure if they are connected to one another or which is the most important to fix. Anyone have any ideas? My hope is that Tim could come over and take a look and then tell me nothing is wrong and it's no big deal at all. Okay? Great. My overall plan is to fix these major things and then get the house looking better - but I don't want to put in countertop and then have to redo it because of floor issues and things like that. Any advice is appreciated. =)
