what is there to say??

so i finally have something to blog about that is completely worthwhile! okay....so let's see, i don't even know where to begin. but i will.

so. saturday lando and i got up at 4:30 in the A.M. to head to Indy for the mini marathon! yikes!! we left his house about 5:00 and got to Indy about 6:15-6:30. we tracked down Dad, Karen, Rajeev, and Arya. Rajeev, Lando and I then headed down to the starting gates. the 3 of us ran the first mile together. After that Rajeev took off and Landon and I kept going at a good pace. We ran the first 8 or 9 miles at about a 12 1/2 minute miles pace and then slowed down so that our final average was about 13 1/2 minute mile. We managed to finish in under 3 hours! i was really pleased with that - it was a good time. Landon and I had a very good run - probably the best run yet...and the good news....I NEVER have to run again!!!! hahah. about 1/2 mile before the end we saw landon's mom, aunt, and uncle. and then at about .1 from the finish line we were spotted by my family. (who cheered so loud that they were awarded the "best support group" - and we were announced over the loud speakers at the finish line!)

after we finished karen and rajeev went to shoot a wedding, while mom, dad, phil, liz, chup, lando, me and arya went to eat our picnic in the grass by the industrial park. then we went back to the hotel that karen and rajeev had and got cleaned up. landon had planned to take me to do something later that day. after getting cleaned up, i left with lando to a park in downtown indy.

the park was beautiful! okay, so the flowers were gone (i don't know...) and the fountains were empty - but the other parts of the park beside the garden were beautiful! there was this cool conservatory with neat tropical flowers, a HUGE park with lots of grass and beautiful trees, and a little creek that ran through the middle. so landon kept saying that he wanted to take my picture somewhere....so when he found this little place by the creek and told me to go walk over there. as i walked over there, i had my back to him. and then............then.........when i turned around to smile for the picture, he was down on his knee with a beautiful ring out for me!!!!

we sat in the grass for a while and then tried to walk around the park some. we sat on a bench and enjoyed every minute of this! the only thing was that landon and i were exhausted after the mini. so we decided it wouldn't be lame if we went to a movie at circle center while we waited to meet up with our families at dinner. my feet were killing me and i could hardly walk - so when we got to circle center and the movies had already started, we decided to head to the food court. hehe. after a snack we headed down to brookstone (YES!) to try out the massage chairs - mainly for the feet.....it was good. after that we met up with my mom and dad and went to dinner. we had a dinner party of 16 people and landon's mom went all out! she made cakes and brought some table decorations - it was SO sweet! the night finally ended when landon and i got back to my house at 1 AM...basically the longest day of my life - and the best one too.

sorry the post is SO long, but i just had to share my whole day with you - and since it was 21 hours long......there was a lot to say!

and also - just so you all know......I'M ENGAGED!!!!

my birthday!

yep - that's today. and i think you all i know how much i love my birthday. and it has been very good so far. i got up, watched some saved by the bell, took a nap, went to the beach, took a shower, took a nap, packed, lunch, and now tv. sounds like a good day huh? i think so.

so yes. today i head home from florida - yes a long drive ahead!

the baby

the baby is here. she was 8 lbs. 1 oz when she was born - and the most beautiful baby i have ever seen. here are just a few pictures from yesterday, but i'm sure i will post more.

my anita . . .

just so you know - that is not her real name, if it was, it would sound like "i need a car key" whenever you said Anita Karki. -just to let you know and that you can stop worrying. k? good.

but yes - anita is coming tomorrow! karen is all checked into the hospital and ready for that sweet child to come. and can i just say, i am the most excited sister ever. i know liz and i have been debating over who would be the favorite aunt - but that isn't the case at all - i am just plain excited. and i'm slowly grasping the concept that this idea of a baby is actually going to be a real baby. i am looking forward to getting to know this little one and loving on her more than i can even imagine. i know this baby is going to change everyone's life completely - and i can't wait.

tomorrow - my life is going to change, i hope i'm ready for this.

summer -

just got the class lists for summer, fall, j-term, and spring. you know what that means? i can now plan the rest of my time here at taylor WITH the schedule of what is really being offered in front of me! no more guessing on if and what is going to be available.

most importantly is the summer lists of classes, but i think i've got that covered. sounds good to me. and soon, i will have it all planned out and ready to go.

Tests! Tests! Tests!

on Monday i had a test in my modern europe test. this was the second test. i made the mistake the first time to study the morning before the test. BAD IDEA! i ended up waking up late - at 8:05 for my 8:00 test. so, in other words, i did not get in much studying. i did pass the exam, but not by much.

so this second test, i was determined to study much harder. we even had a study guide this time. so, i studied and i studied hard. i spent 8 hours going through the study guide on saturday and then 3 hours of studying on Sunday, and a 1/2 hour review session Monday morning before the test. going through the study guide, i knew everything. i had that stuff down. i took the test, and felt pretty good about it.

well, i just got my test back. i got an 81. i'm okay with that. it isn't a bad score, but not great. for all the studying i did, i wanted an a. but, oh well. i'll take the 81 - but just so you all know, those tests are very very hard. okay, i'm done now - but i'm still frustrated.

not really anything to say -

so i just thought i'd say hello.

i'm still working on the same paper - yikes! it's due tomorrow....it's going to be a LONG day. just thought i'd let you know what's going on - still working on that paper.

but i am going to florida for spring break! so excited. i have 2 weeks until Spring Break and then 6 weeks of school left (i think that's right, but i might be off a bit) - and then it is time for summer classes, work and France!

the research is taking way too long. i've been working on it since friday and have gotten no where. but yikes. it's awful.

but soon enough i will begin the writing process. my goodness i hope i get there soon.

but back to work i go.

summer plans. . . and then some

i'm trying to figure out my summer plans. and about to dispise the summer program here at Taylor. so compicated and i don't know what to do with it all. but - i guess i'll figure that out soon enough, maybe once the actual schedule comes out. until then, i'm in a constant state of wonder.

other than that - i know i'm going to be taking between 10 and 12 hours, working 20 hours a week, traveling to the tour de france for july, and possibly living up here at TU while i am home. so that's my plan. we'll see how it turns out, right.

so i started picking up on my myspace. i've had it for a year now and made a total of 10 posts - maybe. i created a nice background - i like it. but i definitely am going to stay here on blogspot for my blog. i like it better. yea, myspace you can have friends and see their profiles and pictures and such, but this is my blog. and that's just what it is.

i feel like i don't have anything to blog about - so i'm sorry my posts are so random and not that interesting. i just don't have a whole lot to say....but wait til my niece gets here - then i'll have something to say. i cannot wait for her to get here. Karen is due in about 2 weeks and i am so so so excited to see this little girl. i can't image what Karen and Rajeev are feeling, it must be a million times more excitement than me - and i am pretty dang excited! i can't believe how great it is going to be - so excited!

so life is good right now. i'm a bit stressed with school, but i have this little girl coming to look forward to - and once she's here, i get to watch her grow - and if that isn't exciting i don't know what is! so here's to a new month and hoping i can get motivated in my studies - here we go!

sorry i haven't posted in a while. it's been busy - yikes!

i spent the weekend at home - i was watching the dogs. Saturday morning, I took Harley out on a run. The dog that was never able to even walk on a leash without freaking out, went on a run without being scared at all. i was very proud of him.

so - besides that - i took 2 tests on monday. i have a test almost every week from now until finals.

most exciting news - karen is almost due to have the baby! saturday Karen and i painted the primer on the dresser she and Rajeev are going to use for the nursery. we also talked about how they should arrange the nursery. Mom finished sewing the crib bumper and dust ruffle and the curtains. SO cute! i can't wait!!!

let's see - i can't think of anything else to say. see, this is why i haven't been blogging. my brain has been crammed full of information. we'll see if i have anything to say another day.

i must be athletic and didn't know it.

being here at TU, i am required to take the general fitness class, Fit for Life, and 2 other fitness classes. Well last semester I took horsemanship, which is a fitness class. And now, this semester I am taking a new fitness class.

I am taking Functional Fitness. It is made up of about 24 girls, most of them are students, but there are a few staff members. So far, we have been focusing on our breathing and stretching. (not a bad fitness class if you ask me!)

well....after class on wednesday a fellow classmate asked me this question...

"are you a dancer?"

she said i look like one! what!?!? i'm not a dancer. i'm not athletic....but it did make me chuckle. but then later i realized something when another girl told me (i had told her the story) that that means she must have been watching me at some point in during class....and i must have looked like i knew what i was doing!

oh how life has changed since the fall. then i could barely run a 12 minute mile. in fact, after running one mile (in about 12 1/2 minutes) i sat on the ground and rested for about 5 minutes before heading up to my room. and now...today. i ran 3...not one...but THREE, 12 minute miles in a row. and...i look like a dancer. i must be turning into someone athletic!

and then - do you ever have those days when you just want to dream or create something? i seem to have those days quite often lately. today it is raining and gloomy out, but it hasn't seemed to bother me just yet. hopefully i can find some time tonight to make something in some way or another.

so to end....today has been good. nothing special has happened, but then again nothing bad either. i hope it stays this way for just a while.

a real post.....

so i figure it's time for a real live post. not one of those 2 liners or nothing to be said posts. this time....i actually have something to say. actually....2 things. but we will start with yesterday and go to today.

yesterday rachel and ben got married. now that was crazy. i've known for years they would get married, and even when they told us all they were getting married it all seemed like a dream. the bachlorette party, the shower, the wedding, right down to the reception. but finally towards the end, it all sank in. i think it was somewhere between the first dance and the dollar dance that it really felt real. jo and i helped serve the drinks and food so that kept us busy, but i enjoyed having something to do...and i could see all that was going on. at one point i looked at rachel and realized that the way she looked is the way i always knew she would look. She was gorgeous. radiant. everything you can say to describe her, that is what she was. seeing that, i knew just how much i have always loved these two. it's weird thinking my friends are now married, but at the same time...it couldn't make more sense. who knows what is going to happen next for them, but it's going to be okay. i guess, with all this rambling....i just realized how much i love them and hope the best for them. they deserve it.

and today. karen's baby shower! i ended up staying up all night to finish the baby sweater i was working on...but it's done. and i loved giving it to her. family and friends came to the shower, we played some fun games and had a very nice time. it was good to see everyone that was here, and sad to see them all go...even if i was desperate to go to sleep. but yea. i'm really excited about this baby. even though i stayed up late and wore myself out....i'd do it all again for this baby...and she isn't even here yet. so...another month and a half. i can't wait! i love her already....of course.

so that's about it. a wedding on saturday, up all night, and a baby shower on sunday....a very long, but very very very good weekend. luckily, i don't have class in the morning.

i'm done with j-term! yes! my class went well...but now it's done. i thought i was going to have this whole week with nothing to do...hah. that never actually happens does it. anyway. it's been good. i've slept in for once and just taken my time. i'm also busy knitting.....but that's not too hard at all. i wasn't planning on working at all this week, but i worked on monday and i'm working some today, and possibly tomorrow and friday. some more work showed up that i can get done...so i guess that's a good thing. some more $$ coming in. yes!

anyway...i better go get ready for lunch before i head off to work.

i know you do.
well...Grandma gave me some money for Christmas. and I took a long time to decide what it was I would buy with it. Well....I finally decided that Dawson's Creek season 2 would be my best choice. and...today.....i won the ebay auction for Dawson's Creek season 2 for a total of $25! that's including shipping! half of the store price.

i'm very proud of myself. and i'm down to only needing season 3 to complete my collection. well..and season 6 but it isn't out of DVD yet...so. that is to come. YES! oh...and i have a bid in on an auction for season 3...might as well spend the rest of the christmas money! (and it's under $20 right now...awesome!) so. soon, my collection will be complete!

j-term is almost over! yes!

I presented my project yesterday and turned in my paper today. then in about 5 mintues I turn in my second paper. sit through some other presentations on monday. but as for work to get done. I'M DONE! yes!

j-term is over and i have a week and a half to do nothing.

and i e-mailed ellen about my gee haw wimmie diddle...i hope she calls me and asks me to sing the special song. that would be really cool.

J-term

yes. that is where i am now. sorry for the lack of posting.....i've been busy/lazy. (either i'm really busy, or finally get a break and don't post) anywho....i'm now back at taylor for j-term. taking one class...and not working much at all. except this week, in which i'm working ALL THE TIME! i have class from 8-10:30 or 8-11:30 and as soon as i'm done with that, i come to work until 5. so YAY! but my back hurts.

i'm going running tonight. yes! finally...i'm seriously getting ready for the mini. so yea. also...i've decided this baby karen is having....is spoiled to great deals (and yes that is my fault!) i already have 3...going on 5 presents. whoops. i know i know...i just can't help it. oh well. babies are good reasons to spend money.

tomorrow is rachels' bachlorette party....applebees. that's exciting! should be a good time with the girls. i'm looking forward to my girl time. it should be good.
